Il GSSI entra nella Rete delle Università per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile

Promossa dalla CRUI - Conferenza dei Rettori delle Università Italiane, la RUS - Rete delle Università per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile è la prima esperienza di coordinamento e condivisione tra tutti gli Atenei italiani impegnati sui temi della sostenibilità ambientale e della responsabilità sociale.
Tra le finalità principali della rete ci sono la diffusione della cultura e delle buone pratiche di sostenibilità, sia all’interno che all’esterno degli Atenei; la promozione e il raggiungimento dei 17 obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibile dell'ONU (UN SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals) e contribuire al loro raggiungimento.
“Per il GSSI è un'adesione importante - afferma il Rettore Eugenio Coccia - crediamo sia fondamentale condividere esperienze e competenze tra le Università italiane. È mettendo a sistema le azioni messe in atto dai singoli Atenei che possiamo moltiplicarne gli impatti positivi".
I 500 membri dalle 77 Università iscritte alla rete hanno un ulteriore comune obiettivo, quello di rafforzare la riconoscibilità e il valore dell’esperienza italiana a livello internazionale. La RUS si pone inoltre come modello di buona pratica da estendere anche ad altri settori della P.A., dell'istruzione e del territorio in generale, incentivando lo sviluppo di collaborazioni tra università e città, diffondendo innovazione sociale sul territorio e fornendo stimoli culturali per l'intero sistema paese.
"La rete opererà attraverso 7 gruppi di lavoro macrotematici - spiega Alessandro Palma, ricercatore in Scienze Sociali e delegato GSSI per le attività RUS - Sui temi della mobilità, dell'educazione dell'inclusione sociale, ad esempio, il GSSI è coinvolto direttamente sin dall'inizio della sua fondazione. In più, grazie alla multidisciplinarietà delle proprie aree di ricerca, potrà dare un contributo scientifico anche sui temi del cambiamento climatico e dell'energia".
Tra i membri fondatori della RUS c'è anche ASVIS (Alleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile).

The GSSI in the Italian Universities Network for Sustainable Development (RUS)
The Italian University Network for Sustainable Development (RUS) is the first experience of coordination and sharing between all Italian universities committed to the topic of environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
Among the main purposes of the RUS network are the dissemination of sustainability practices and culture, both within and outside the universities; the promotion and achievement of the 17 UN SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals and their achievement.
“For the GSSI it is an important step - Rector Eugenio Coccia says - We believe it's essential to share experiences and skills between Italian universities. By systematizing these actions we can multiply their positive impacts ".
The 500 members from the 77 universities have a further common goal: strengthening the recognition and value of the Italian experience at an international level. The RUS also stands as a model of good practice to be extended to other sectors of the public administration such as education and territorial governement in general.
"The network will operate through 7 macro-thematic working groups - Alessandro Palma, researcher in Social Sciences and GSSI delegate for RUS activities explains - On the issues of mobility, education and social inclusion, for example, the GSSI has been directly involved since the beginning of its foundation. In addition, thanks to the multidisciplinary of its research areas, it will also be able to make a scientific contribution on the themes of climate change and energy ".
